Este art\u00edculo se adentra en las ramificaciones de esta importante ley y la coloca dentro del complicado contexto econ\u00f3mico y pol\u00edtico del pa\u00eds. La autora nos lleva por una detallada trayectoria a trav\u00e9s de cada cap\u00edtulo de la ley desarrollando minuciosamente las implicaciones sobre los diversos temas que inciden en las relaciones laborales. La <i>Ley de transformaci\u00f3n y flexibilidad laboral <\/i>deroga leyes tan conocidas como la <i>Ley de cierre<\/i>, mientras tambi\u00e9n a\u00f1ade enmiendas significativas a leyes que impactan los salarios y horas en exceso de los empleados, y consigue, finalmente, reglamentar el contrato de empleo, evitando as\u00ed el recurso ordinario al ya anticuado C\u00f3digo Civil del 1930. La abarcadora ley esencialmente moderniza el esquema laboral para que Puerto Rico logre alcanzar mayor competitividad frente a los mercados laborales de otros estados. Sin embargo, la autora concluye que esta modernizaci\u00f3n implica un retroceso en muchos aspectos, modificando importantes avances en nuestra legislaci\u00f3n protectora, dejando a la buena fe del patrono la calidad de vida de las empleadas y los empleados de Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The <i>Labor Flexibility and Transformation Act <\/i>directly and substantially impacts the labor and employment framework that regulates the employee-employer relationship in Puerto Rico. This article explores the various ramifications of the new law, placing it within the complex political and economic context of the island. The author takes us on a detailed analysis of each Chapter developing the consequences on the labor and employment market. The <i>Labor Fle<\/i><i>xibility and transformation Act <\/i>repeals well-known laws such as the <i>Rest and Closing Act<\/i>, while adding significant amendments to wages and overtime, and finally achieves a clear regulation of the employment contract without any recourse to the now antiquated Civil Code of 1930. The overarching new labor law will essentially modernize the labor and employment market of Puerto Rico in order to better compete with other States.
