El autor destaca que la jurisprudencia de este t\u00e9rmino evidencia el alcance de la norma establecida en <em>Pueblo v. S\u00e1nchez Valle<\/em>. Espec\u00edficamente, que el mismo no alter\u00f3 la cantidad m\u00ednima de votos requeridos en un jurado para declarar culpable a un acusado. Adem\u00e1s, discute la importancia de configurar un jurado imparcial, el rol de la acci\u00f3n legislativa en aclarar asuntos relacionados con el \u00a0Procedimiento Criminal y la discrecionalidad que gozan los tribunales apelativos en cuanto a acoger apelaciones de acusados pr\u00f3fugos. Asimismo abunda en la importancia de los int\u00e9rpretes en las vistas y, en la necesidad de que se legisle y de expresiones m\u00e1s claras del Tribunal Supremo.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Ernesto Chiesa Aponte analyzes the opinions of the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico during the 2016 through 2017 term on the subject of Criminal Procedure, along with a few sentences within the same period. The author emphasizes that the case law established during this term clarifies the extent of <em>Pueblo v. S\u00e1nchez Valle<\/em> by deciding that the precedent did not alter the minimum number of required votes by a jury to reach a guilty verdict for the accused. In addition, the Author discusses the importance of an impartial jury, the role of legislative action in matters of Criminal Procedure as well as the discretion of appellate courts in attending appeals made by fugitive accused parties. Finally, the author emphasizes in the importance of interpreters during hearings and, the need for legislation and clearer expressions from the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cita:<\/strong>\u00a0Ernesto L.
