Professor Colón Morera examines the recent political literature regarding the legal and political status of Puerto Rico. The author demonstrates that American academic circles have not reached a consensus over Puerto Rico’s political prospects. He concludes that this division and lack of intellectual clarity contributes to the current stalemate. Thus, they are unable to push for a concise or effective set of integral policy solutions to Puerto Rico’s political problem.
